Meet Commissioner Amber Mills
Commissioner Mills was elected to the Shelby County Commission in 2018. During her time on the County Commission, Commissioner Mills has served as the Chairman of the Law Enforcement, Corrections, and Courts Committee, the Legislative Affairs Committee, and the Delinquent Tax Property Committee.
She has led on a wide range of issues, including but not limited to:
- Stopped a proposal to raise county taxes
- Funding for a new Veterans Home in Arlington
- Secured $4M in federal funding for infrastructure
- Fought to remove residency requirements for first responders
- Trash Collection in Northhaven
- Historic Preservation in Arlington
- Opening a Veterans Services office in Millington
- Helped fix an alleyway issue that had been ongoing for 5 years in Cordova
- Secured funding for a $403,000 STEM Lab at Arlington High School
